Lifeguard (2 positions) – Hillsborough Public Pool.  Performing Lifeguard duties during public swimming at the outdoor community pool. Give instructions during aquasize classes. The main part of this position is to provide instructions on the Red Cross swim programs. Lifeguards must have all mandatory courses as well as having the Water Safety Instructor Course as this is the course that allows swim lessons to be given. The staff are also responsible for cleaning the pool and grounds. Staff are responsible for collecting monies during public swim and for registering and collecting fees for the swim lessons. The lifeguard positions are best suited to mature individuals who have had previous experience with both lifeguarding and giving lessons and who take the role of a Lifeguard seriously. 40 hours per week. Anticipated start date July 3rd – 8 week position.

Museum Curator, William Henry Steeves House Museum.  This is an opportunity for a self-motivated individual to be the team leader of the Steeves House Museum. The Museum is the historic birthplace of the Honourable William Henry Steeves. The original cottage was finished in 1812; William Henry Steeves was born here in 1814 as the oldest of eleven children. He became a Father of Confederation and later, Senator Steeves.
The position includes managing the artefact collection, offering educational outreach and supervising summer interpretive staff in telling the story of William Henry Steeves and the Steeves descendants.
The candidate will direct the day-to-day museum management functions, train and supervise the summer student staff and organize and promote collections to expand community interest.
Strong organizational, supervisory, interpersonal and oral/written communication skills are necessary, as well as strong social media, computer skills, and speaking before small and large groups. Bilingualism is an asset but not a requirement.

Recreation Director (1 position) – Hillsborough Public Pool.  To Assist the Lifeguards at the Community Pool in managing youth outside of the pool. To organize recreational activities during non-swimming time. To assist with maintaining discipline within the pool area. Ensuring pool area and dressing rooms are kept clean. Collected fees from swimming registrations and public swim. 40 hours per week. Anticipated start date, July 3rd – 8 week position.

Tourism Advisor – Hillsborough Visitor Information Center.  Providing information to tourists on our area and the Province in general. Keeping statistics on visitors. Maintaining tourism literature. Must have extensive knowledge of our area and be able to provide driving directions when needed. Light housekeeping of the Information Center. There is daily interaction with tourists from all over; must have excellent communication skills. Must be willing and able to work weekends. This job would be best suited to a mature individual who can work well alone or with others. Bilingualism is an asset. Anticipated start date June 19th – 11 week position.
