Student positions with the Village of Hillsborough
The Village of Hillsborough has opportunities for students to gain work experience and contribute to their community.
Public Works Labourer and Trail Maintenance – Public Works Labourer and Trail Maintenance students assist the Public Works Department in the repair and maintenance of various facilities within the Village of Hillsborough. This position requires performing labour-related duties, such as lawn mowing, planting and maintaining flower beds, garbage collection, trail maintenance, janitorial duties, etc. Previous experience in the labour related duties set above is an asset.
Education: High School, University or College student.
Supervision/Training: No supervisory duties. Training will be provided. Supervision will be under the guidance of Village Staff.
Hours of work: Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm.

Lifeguard – The Hillsborough Recreation Council is looking for a fully certified lifeguard to work at the outdoor community pool from June 27 – August 26th.
Duties include: Provide Red Cross swim instructions to youth, performing Lifeguard duties during public swim and adult swim, cleaning of the pool and grounds, collecting monies during public swim, register and collect the fees for swim lessons. Lifeguard positions are best suited to mature individuals who have had previous experience with both lifeguarding and giving lessons and who take the role of a Lifeguard seriously.
Education: High School, University or College student.
Qualifications: Certified Lifeguard and Water Safety Instructor Course
Supervision/Training: No supervisory duties. Supervision will be under the guidance of Village Staff.
Hours of work: Various shifts, could include evenings and weekends.
